“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
For God so loved the world. A world so beautiful yet so broken.
He so loved our world that he sent His one and only perfect Son to the brokenness.
He so loved our world that He entered into our imperfection & brokenness so that we may no longer be separated from Him. So that we may have a tangible understanding of just how loved we are.
The world says that to be loved, we must work our way out of brokenness through good deeds & perfection & increasingly difficult demands.
But what is so beautiful about Jesus’ love is we did absolutely nothing to deserve it. It is unconditional; not dependent on anything we do or say or how we measure up.
This Christmas, sweet friend, I hope you know how loved you are. And when the world tells you that you couldn’t possibly be loved in spite of the things you’ve done or the mess you’ve made, remember that a perfect God, through His son Jesus, entered into complete brokenness to enable us to know Him, to love Him, & to have eternal life in heaven with Him, all despite anything we could’ve ever done to try & deserve it.
Thank you, Jesus, for loving us more than my heart can even comprehend at times. How grateful I am for You, today & everyday.
Merry Christmas <3
Always,
Elle
